Yas Waterworld
With its Arabian theme and dozens of rides, slides, and attractions, Yas Waterworld is popular with both visitors and locals. Opened in 2003, it packs in plenty of water-based fun with slides and pools suitable for all ages. Its tornado waterslide is the only hydromagnetic-powered slide of its kind in the world, and is a real adrenaline rush for waterpark lovers. Check out the world’s largest surfable sheet wave on Bubble’s Barrel, that has waves of up to 3m high. There’s plenty of land-based fun too, and an excellent selection of cafés, restaurants, and facilities to make your day really special.
Murjan Splash Park
If your kids are a little younger, then this purpose-built park is perfect for ages up to 12 years. The central feature is the Water Play Structure, which is shallow enough for timid toe-dippers and paddlers. The 257m-long lazy river lets you float along, while ‘Water Balloon Wars’ is perfect for more adventurous little ones, while the Surf Wrangler lets kids try out surfing in a safe and fun environment. The park is open from May to August.
Ferrari World
One of Abu Dhabi’s biggest attractions, Ferrari World celebrates everything to do with the iconic red supercars. The theme park opened in 2010 and is home to some of the rarest sports cars on the planet. It also houses the fastest rollercoaster in the world: the Formula Rossa. Because it’s an indoor theme park, it’s perfect for a visit all year round, and the air conditioning makes it a cool oasis in the heat of the summer. Its latest offering is the ride known as Turbo Track, which takes visitors up through the glass roof at speeds of up to 102km/h. It also gives you a fabulous view of Yas Island.
If you’ve always wanted to drive a Ferrari but simply haven’t had the chance, check out the interactive Speed of Magic 4D riding experience, which will catapult you from 0 to 62mph in just two seconds. The little ones can try out their skills on the Junior Grand Prix experience.

It’s time to hit the big screen, at one of the biggest forthcoming attractions in Abu Dhabi. Warner Bros World is one of the most anticipated new hotspots in Abu Dhabi. Scheduled to open in 2018, the park will attract thousands of film fans from all over the world. Expect to meet characters like Batman and Superman, and all the beloved Looney Tunes cartoons such as Bugs Bunny.
