Top Things to do during Ramadan in the UAE this year

16 May 2017

The month of Ramadan is always a special time in the UAE for people from all faiths, as it’s a time of giving, kindness, and reflection. From its famous Ramadan tents to the bustling night market, there are plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy during this month, offering the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of your family and friends. Here’s some things to look forward to during the Holy Month in the UAE.

Savour a delicious Iftar or Suhoor with Friends and Family

Ramadan isn’t complete without a lovely meal on Iftar with your friends and family. Iftar is held at sunset, while Suhoor is observed just before Sunrise. Most parks, markets, and malls operate for extended hours during Ramadan and offer the opportunity to experience one of the unique aspects of this month in which special religious events, festivities and socialising go late into the night.

If you live in the UAE, there’s a great chance one of your colleagues or friends will invite you to a traditional Iftar with their family, or you can benefit from the many buffet Iftar offers available at most restaurants and hotels. Either way, having Iftar in UAE with your friends and family is a great way to experience the traditional Arabian hospitality and enjoy some quality time with your loved ones.

If you’re looking for Iftar offers, then take advantage of Ramadan offers at Premier Inn. This year you can benefit from a Buy One Get One Free Iftar Dinner Buffet at Nuevo Restaurant for guests who book online in any of our UAE hotels. Take an evening stroll at Ramadan Night Market

The Night market is a unique bazaar that opens only during Ramdan from first to 10th June this year, hosted at Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai. The Night Market features fashion accessories, handicrafts, in addition to home appliances, electronics, and many other consumer items. There’s much more than shopping, however, as there’s something for the whole family to enjoy with a food court, a Grand Arabic-themed Majlis, an exclusive Henna painting section, in addition to a dedicated play area for the kids and more.

Participate in Charity with Zayed Humanitarian Day

Ramadan is a month of giving and charity plays a big role during this time of the year. The 19th day of Ramadan is designated as Zayed Humanitarian Day across the UAE. It’s held in honour of the founder of the nation, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and marked by charitable activities.
There are many charity initiatives during this month that you can take part in at various locations, and it’s a great opportunity to help the world’s less fortunate, especially in areas affected by conflict and natural disasters.
