Dubai’s malls are world-famous. From being the largest in the world, to being the home of ski slopes in the desert. You want it? Dubai’s got it.

But what if you don’t want to go out and get it? Online shopping in the UAE has soared in recent months, offering an alternative to the hustle and bustle of malls and the convenience of getting whatever you want delivered direct to your door. And with the season of gift buying upon us, there are more opportunities to shop online in Dubai than ever before.

Deliciousness delivered

We’re familiar with getting dinner delivered from our favourite restaurants, but as we’re encouraged to stay at home in the current climate – why not send friends and family a sweet treat in the evening? Costa Coffee are delivering their regular hot beverages, where you can add seasonal donuts and biscuits to delight your loved ones.

As we’re reminded to keep a social distance, and maintain proper hygiene standards a delivery direct to their door is a great way to share gifts and let loved ones know you are thinking of them.

Fresh fruits to your door

Grocery shopping is an essential task, but many stores in the UAE have improved their online shopping channels, saving you a trip to the store. Dubai-resident favourites Carrefour, Lulu and Union Coop offer a wide range of home grown products and international brands that are packed and delivered safely to you.

For even more convenience, swipe through mobile app InstaShop for your daily essentials in minutes.
If you’re looking for fresh and organic fruits and vegetables, there’s a plethora of online grocers who can put together meal packs, and even add a recipe card to help you out in the kitchen! Hello Chef is one of Dubai’s favourite recipe box delivery services, with 20 recipes to choose from each week.

Stay safe online

While it’s great to use mobile apps, websites and WhatsApp to get what you want quickly, always remember to stay safe online too.

Avoid making purchases from fraudulent sites. Read reviews for online shopping sites, look for a location and check their customer service information before making a purchase.

If you’ve seen an advert that seems too good to be true, don’t click it. Go to the brand website direct and double check the offer is legitimate.
Try to use a credit card rather than a debit card to make purchases, as they provide greater consumer protection. And check your bank statements regularly to ensure you know what each transaction is for.
