Premier Inn Dubai Al Jaddaf receives Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp 2023

22 Jan 2024

Premier Inn Dubai Al Jaddaf has been recognised with the Bronze Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp 2023, a new initiative launched by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) to showcase the city’s most sustainable hotels.

The environmental certification further reinforces Dubai’s drive to become a leading sustainable destination. Al Jaddaf is the first hotel within the Premier Inn chain that has received the sustainable stamp of approval.

From left to right, Vijay Kaliyaperumal (Maintenance Supervisor, Al Jaddaf), Pawel Guminski (Cluster General Manager, Al Jaddaf and Dubai International Airport), Mohamed Wahba (Operations Manager, Al Jaddaf).

For its first edition, DET has awarded 70 hotels across the city for their green standards. All hotels had to fulfill 19 sustainability requirements to make the list. Some of the comprehensive requirements include sustainable management approaches, energy, food and water efficiency, guest education, employee training initiatives, creating sustainability committees, and Corporate Social Responsibility programmes for local communities. Based on their scores, the hotels were awarded bronze, silver or gold stamps.

Simon Leigh, Managing Director, Premier Inn Middle East, commented: “We are proud to be among the first selection of Dubai hotels to have received the Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp. This green stamp of approval aligns brilliantly with our recently launched sustainability programme Force For Good. Doing business in a responsible way; being a Force for Good is at the heart of everything we do. Massive congratulations to the Al Jaddaf team for all their dedication and hard work!”
